Two people managed to safely escape a house fire after being alerted by a dog Tuesday morning near Lewisville.
Officials said the blaze was reported at 6:23 a.m. at 7103 Styers Ferry Road.
Officials said the fire started in the attic, which did not have a fire alarm. Authorities said it was caused by an electrical problem.
Authorities said the occupants awoke to fire from a ceiling fan. A fire detector eventually went off once the flames reached the living area.
Officials said three engine companies responded. Firefighters had to reportedly open a hole in the roof.
